4mm steel chassis
The shell is made from 4mm cold-rolled steel with anti-pry reinforcement on both hinge edges. This is noticeably thicker than most similarly priced safes, which typically use 1–1.5mm steel.
VaultrasSafeBox is a compact digital safe with three access methods — fingerprint, PIN code, and backup key. Designed for homes, home offices, and hotel rooms. 4mm cold-rolled steel, 12-month battery standby, and a discreet motion alert.
Most consumer safes use thin sheet steel and a single entry method. VaultrasSafeBox uses a thicker chassis, three independent access options, and a battery designed to last a full year between charges.

Stores up to 20 unique fingerprints. The sensor reads in under half a second and works reliably with slightly damp or dry fingers. It does not store fingerprint images — only an encrypted template.
When the safe is moved or struck, it can send a notification to your phone rather than sounding an audible alarm. Useful in situations where a loud siren might not be practical.
Fingerprint, 6–8 digit PIN code, or two physical backup keys. If one method fails for any reason, you always have another option. You cannot be permanently locked out.
The internal lithium battery lasts up to 12 months on standby. An external 9V port on the front lets you temporarily power the safe if the battery is fully depleted before you can recharge it.
Pre-drilled holes and hardened anchor bolts are included for floor or wall mounting. The safe also works freestanding inside a wardrobe or cabinet. Setup takes around 10 minutes either way.

These are the physical dimensions and material specifications you'd want to verify before buying any safe. No marketing language — just the numbers.
Note: VaultrasSafeBox is rated for impact and intrusion resistance. It is not certified fireproof. If fireproofing is a requirement, we'd suggest looking at fire-rated alternatives and comparing them directly.
Most customers have VaultrasSafeBox operational within 15 minutes of opening the box. Here's what that looks like.
Decide where the safe will live. If you want to bolt it down, use the included anchor kit and drill template — it takes around 10 minutes with a basic drill. If you'd prefer not to drill, place it freestanding inside a wardrobe or drawer unit.
Follow the on-door prompts to enrol up to 20 fingerprints and set a 6–8 digit master code. You can also add secondary users independently. Store the two backup keys somewhere separate from the safe itself.
Close the door and the motorised bolts engage automatically. To open, press your registered finger against the sensor — the door releases in under half a second. The LED interior light comes on as soon as it opens.
This is our best attempt at an honest comparison. If any of these details matter to you, we'd encourage you to verify them against competitor specs before deciding.

Most customers use VaultrasSafeBox in a bedroom wardrobe or home office. Common items include passports, insurance documents, jewellery, and backup hard drives. The 14L interior fits A4 folders flat.
Small businesses and sole traders use it for documents that need access control but don't justify a full commercial safe. PIN access makes it easy to grant access to a specific person without sharing keys.
The guest-code reset feature means each visitor can set their own PIN without staff involvement. The safe doesn't retain previous guest codes after a master reset.
VaultrasSafeBox designs compact biometric safes for everyday use. We focus on a narrow product range: safes that work reliably, are straightforward to set up, and are built from materials that hold up over time. We don't make dozens of products. We make one kind of thing and try to do it well.
VaultrasSafeBox is not a commercial-grade security solution. It is a consumer-level safe suited for home and light office use. It is not fireproof or waterproof. It is not rated to withstand sustained professional attack. If those things matter for your use case, you'll want to look at certified fire-rated or commercial-grade products.
We offer a 60-day return window from date of delivery, no questions asked for the first 30 days. Warranty claims on the electronics are handled within 5 working days. Our support team responds to every email, typically within one working day. You won't be directed to an automated system.
The fingerprint sensor stores a mathematical template on the safe's internal chip — not an image of your fingerprint. That data never leaves the device. There is no cloud storage or account required to use the fingerprint function.
If something isn't covered here, email us at [email protected] — we reply to every message.
The capacitive sensor has a false acceptance rate below 0.001%. It reads in under 0.4 seconds in normal conditions. Performance can degrade with very wet hands or deep cuts across the fingertip — this is normal for any capacitive sensor. That's why the PIN and backup key options are always available.
The rechargeable lithium battery lasts up to 12 months on standby. If it's completely depleted before you recharge it, hold a 9V battery against the two terminals on the front of the door — this provides enough temporary power to enter your PIN and open the safe. Your fingerprints and settings are stored separately and won't be lost.
Yes. You have two options: bolt it to a stud or concrete floor using the included anchor kit, or use it freestanding inside a wardrobe. Freestanding is less secure but avoids drilling. If you bolt it, the holes can be filled and painted when you leave.
No. VaultrasSafeBox is rated for impact and intrusion resistance, not fire or water. It has a basic IP splash rating so minor moisture won't damage the electronics, but it should not be submerged and will not protect contents in a fire. If fire protection is important, look for products with a UL fire rating.
Lifetime warranty on the steel chassis against structural defects. Five years on the electronic components including the sensor, keypad, and motor. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, cosmetic wear, or issues caused by unauthorised modification. We don't make you jump through hoops for genuine warranty claims.
UK orders dispatch within 24 hours and arrive in 2–4 working days via tracked courier. International shipping is 5–10 working days. You'll receive a tracking link as soon as the order leaves our warehouse.
Yes. You can enrol additional fingerprints and set sub-user PINs at any time from the master code settings menu. Up to 20 fingerprints total. Individual fingerprints or codes can be deleted without resetting the whole safe.
Contact us within 60 days of delivery to start a return. Items must be in original condition with all packaging and accessories. We'll email you a return label. Refunds are processed within 5–10 working days of receiving the safe back and completing a basic inspection.
